In chapter one the Israelites are many in number and the pharaoh of Egypt is worried they will take over Egypt. The Israelites are made into slaves and treated poorly. The pharaoh orders a law that all the Israelite babies should be killed and sent down the river.
In chapter two Moses was born and hid for three months, then sent down the river. Pharaohs daughter is bathing in the river and finds Moses. Pharaohs daughter likes Moses and so she gives him to one of her servants to feed him. Moses grows up and sees an Egyptian beating a Israelite, so Moses kills the Egyptian and hides him in the sand. Later there are girls going to get water. Then some shepherds come and like attack the girls or something, so Moses scares them off. The girls go home and tell their father and he tells them to go get Moses. Moses come to their house and the father gives one of his daughters to Moses to marry.
In chapter three Moses is walking on a mountain with his flocks and he sees a burning bush. Moses walks over to the bush and it starts talking. It is God and he tells Moses to take off his shoes because he was on holy ground. God tells Moses that he will bring the Israelites out of Egypt with his power.
This is the verse that I chose is Exodus 1:7, it says: "but the Israelites were exceedingly fruitful; they multiplied greatly, increased in numbers and became so numerous that the land was filled with them."
This can be applied to our lives when we think that God is not greater then our problems. This verse shows us how God will always provide for us when we are in need, just like he did for the Israelites and many others before us.
